The
ultimate in world cruising sailing yachts, and has proved it by recently
completing a five-year circumnavigation of the world.

1986 Cheoy Lee
63 PH Motorsailor
"MILLENNIUM USA"
She is phenomenal under sail
and impressive under power with luxuries only found in spacious motor yachts.
Electrically furled sails makes life easy, yet almost 1300 square feet of sail
make her a performer even in moderate air, and the reliable twin 3208 Cats with
a total of 420 HP provide exceptional power for cruising speed and
maneuverability around the docks yet excellent fuel efficiency.
Generous freeboard, a
full keel, and nearly 50 ton displacement contribute to a comfortable and
dry ride in virtually all sea conditions. Finally, she is immensely spacious in
both her lavish accommodations and her machinery spaces that make the idea of
cruising off to the far corners of the world all the more inviting.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
|
The
Stateroom Forward consists of upper and lower berths with drawer storage
under, offset to port. On the starboard side is a double, cedar-lined,
hanging locker, with full-length storage above, that can be used as 3-rd
bunk. Portlights and an overhead hatch provide natural light and ventilation
and are assisted by Cruisair air conditioning and 12V overhead and valance
fluorescent lighting and reading lights. There is a forward bulkhead
compartment door, which opens to a divided chain locker. There is a privacy
door aft. The sole is teak parquet, joinery is teak with a gloss finish, and
overheads are nautical design headliner: this theme runs throughout the
guest cabins.
The portside head has a private entrance, which is shared with the port
guest stateroom, as well as a door to the passageway. This head is equipped
with an Electro-flush, freshwater toilet. There is a vanity with a porcelain
sink and a locker above, and an adjacent portlight. The sole has a drain pan
and is finished with Deck 2000 flooring.
Further aft is the Port Guest Stateroom with double berth with drawer
storage underneath, a nightstand with cushion, hull side shelves outboard,
cedar-lined hanging locker, portlight, reading lights, and overhead hatch.

Across the passageway is the Starboard Guest Stateroom with upper/lower
berths, hanging locker (and features similar to the other cabins) and
private entrance to the Starboard head. This head boasts a spacious shower
stall with seat (and an extra door to the engine room), and an Electro-flush
freshwater head. There is a vanity with sink over a storage locker,
portlight, and a separate door to the passageway, which allows this to be
used as the day head. The passageway has a deck prism in the overhead for
natural light and there are two hatches in the sole for access to the
forward water tank.

Access to the Salon is aft
and up three steps. The Salon is exceptional in its sheer size, layout and
superb joinery. This is a remarkably well lit area due to three overhead
hatches and six huge side windows. The focal point is the full-sized curved
settee and tri-oval table. The teak table is finished in high gloss varnish,
the settee cushions are golden with blue decorator cloth, and they
complement the surrounding glossy teak fixed décor. Opposite to port is the
enclosed entertainment system: JVC television behind tambour doors, JVC VCR,
DVD video, Dolby Digital Sound system with 6 speaker surround sound, Philips
Satellite converter connected to deck connector for connection to satellite
dish. In the same area is an Audio/Video patch panel to provide input to
Eiki digital video projector that projects video and laptop computer signals
to a 5 foot by 5 foot pull down screen hidden behind port side valance. In
addition there is a am/fm tuner with cassette player and separate stereo
speakers. There are two barstools at the sit-down bar top facing the galley.
There is a large modern easy chair with a beige leather cushion and a teak
stool/table. On either side of the salon, the windows have valances above
and shelving below. There are flowered draw curtains. Additional fluorescent
lighting in the valances compliments the overhead halogen starlight
lighting. Twin air conditioning vents in the forward bulkhead blow aft. The
entire sole is teak parquet with a new Polyurethane finish.

Salon Entertainment Center
The adjoining Galley is
located aft on the port side. It is quite large, properly U-shaped, and yet
doesn’t encroach into the salon as it is partitioned off at an obtuse
angle. Well thought out, this design will please serious chefs. The
lighting is good and the large sliding side window by the sink adds to the
feeling of spaciousness. The white Formica countertops and white steel
appliances provide a nice contrast to the surrounding teak joinery and tan
Deck2000 cork flooring. A Whirlpool microwave is built-in. The refrigerator
and freezer are commercial grade Sharp with the unique double opening door.
Above and aside the refrigerator are custom sliding shelves for glassware,
cups and wine storage.
Galley Galley
Bar
Opposite to starboard is a
small ‘foyer’. This is the circular confluence of the companionway up to the
wheelhouse, the companionway down and aft to the Owner’s area, and the wet
bar arrangement with it’s pullout cabinet (which allows access outboard and
forward to a considerable volume of storage space beneath the side deck). A
built in icemaker complements the bar. Both sets of companionway steps are
curved, which accentuates the spaciousness of this below deck area.

Stairs to Aft Cabin & Pilot House

Down the steps from the
‘foyer’, there are storage lockers to the left and a stainless steel
handrail to the right. A door in the passageway leads to the Utility room, a
gray-carpeted space which houses the stacked washer and dryer (new in 2000),
the main electrical panel, access to the stuffing boxes, storage lockers
both over and under a workbench with vise, extensive tools. There is a door
leading forward under an extensive spare parts storage cabinet leading into
the engine room.

Door to Engine Room

The Engine Room is organized, well lit, and clean. There is red carpeting
over the diamond plate catwalk and the headroom is 53”. There is amazingly
good access to everything: gensets, battery boxes, fuel filters & manifolds,
sea strainers… and bright fluorescent lighting. Both fuel tanks are
positioned outboard of the main engines and feature “manhole” access plates
in case a major cleaning is required.

Without a detour to the
utility/engine rooms, the starboard hall leads aft to the Master Stateroom,
which amazes with its queen-size pedestal berth with storage beneath.
Master Aft Stateroom
Mounted to the aft bulkhead
are two reading lamps, bookshelves and a large mirror There is a curved,
cream cloth-covered settee to starboard. There are numerous drawers to port,
a locker and built-in upholstered chair. Just inside the doorway is a vanity
with large mirror and pullout seat.
Like
the other staterooms, there is both a 12-volt DC fan and a 240-volt fan
available. Valance lighting provides a soft mood and there are fluorescent
lights in the overhead, augmented by natural lighting provided by the
opening portholes. A door leads forward into the Master head, which includes
a full-sized (recently refinished) bathtub, a Electroflush (freshwater)
toilet, and white vanity and wall panels contrasted by teak trim keepers,
teak locker doors, and mirrors. There is also an overhead deck prism that
brightly illuminates the area.
Master Head Marble Counter
Master Head Bathtub
Up the curved steps from
the “foyer” is the well-laid out Pilothouse. Five windows make up the
windshield one equipped with wiper. Two sliding windows are on each side,
and there is a window aft in the bulkhead and wheelhouse door. The spoke
teak wheel and helm area is offset to port. There is a settee aft against
the bulkhead with matching upholstery in the salon, (new 2003) and a Halogen
reading light. Opposite, too starboard, is the navigation table with map
lamp and pedestal seat.
Wheel, Instruments and Controls
Settee and Chart Table

Back on the Aft Deck, the semicircular settee (with white vinyl cushions)
and custom over-sized pedestal table rise above teak decks that will
comfortably seat 8 guests. There is a spacious deck refrigerator with lid
that folds to make a bar counter. There is a large storage area under the
settee containing emergency equipment. There is plenty of room aft of the
settee for line handling and a “manhole cover” allows access to the large
aft lazarette. This lazarette stores the large lines and the twin hydraulic
autopilot pumps.

Up two steps is the
flybridge helm station where the mainsheet and traveler winches fall to
hand. There is a large storage under the entire fly bridge accessible
through double locker doors facing aft. The helm, offset to starboard, is
equipped with a Stainless Steel Destroyer wheel. A navigation instrument
panel and the standard gauge panel with its protective Plexiglas door are
accessible from the helm and companion swivel ergonomic seats. For picking
one’s way through the shallows and docking, this elevated steering station
greatly increases the visibility.
